FAQ

Common questions.

Do I need to already know my gender to take this course?
No. The course is explicitly designed for exploration, with no assumed destination. You can take it questioning, mid-exploration, recently out, or years into a settled identity.
Is this only for trans and non-binary people?
No. Cis people who want to understand their relationship with gender more clearly are equally welcome. Identity exploration is not the same as identity change.
Will this push me toward a particular conclusion about my gender?
No. The course offers frameworks, not answers. Caspian's approach is firmly non-directive, you explore at your pace and arrive (or don't) at your own conclusions.
How long are the modules?
Each session is bite-sized, typically 10 to 20 minutes. The course is fully self-paced, so you can pause, return, and re-watch whenever feels useful.
What format is the course in?
Short therapist-led video sessions in the Kalda app, paired with reflective exercises you can do in-app or in your own notebook. Everything is private to you.
How much does Kalda cost?
The Kalda app is free to download on iOS and Android. Full access to this course and every other course in the library is a monthly or annual subscription, purchased in the app. Current prices are always shown in the app before you commit to anything.
Is Kalda only for LGBTQIA+ people?
Kalda is built by and for queer people, and the content assumes a queer reader. Anyone is welcome to take a course; the framing, examples and clinical context are written through a queer lens throughout.
What if I am in crisis?
Kalda is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, please contact Samaritans (116 123), Shout (text "Shout" to 85258), or NHS 111. Our safeguarding page lists all routes.
